Kortext to lead on supply of eTextbooks to Scottish HE/FE institutions and their students

In a significant announcement for university libraries across Scotland, Kortext, the UK’s number one student learning content and engagement platform, has been named the first ranked supplier on Lot 5 of the Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC) Framework Agreement LIB1016 AP for eBooks, eBook Collections and eTextbooks.

This ranking confirms our commitment to delivering the content that universities, their academics and their students want to support their studies and the universities’ teaching mission, and at the same time, on a platform that provides a best-in-class, connected digital learning experience for students.

As the procurement centre of expertise for Scotland’s universities and colleges, APUC is a trusted source of guidance and support for institutions looking to purchase goods and services from expert suppliers, saving time and money.

Through our smart study platform, Kortext Arcturus, we already provide eTextbooks to 50 per cent of UK students at over 100 universities including University of Edinburgh, University of Stirling and Heriot-Watt University. This award identifies Kortext as one of the most trusted and dependable eTextbook suppliers in the market, recognising our unrivalled range of products and services, developed to support teaching and learning, widen access and improve the student experience and outcomes.

This news comes just one month after Kortext was named as highest scoring supplier on Lot 5 of the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) Framework covering the supply of eTextbooks in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, making Kortext the first company to feature this way for eTextbook supply on both Frameworks, covering the whole of the UK.

James Gray, Kortext CEO and Founder, commented:

We are delighted to have been selected by the Scottish universities as a key supplier for this important learning content, delivered on a state of the art, personal study platform. Recent research has revealed that 80 per cent of university leaders believe most institutions will adopt a more blended approach to learning post-pandemic, providing more choice to their students and, under this framework agreement, we can continue to support Scottish universities, their academics and their students, as more flexible learning, supported by access to digital learning resources tightly integrated into the course, becomes more of the norm.

As universities invest in their digital strategies, Kortext partners with them to ensure we deliver the best integrated learning experience possible, aligned with the course content they need, accessible anytime, from anywhere, on any device. Students are at the heart of everything we do and we look forward to working with more universities as they explore digital transformation to support changing student needs.
