Television or TV is a communication channel used to transmit moving images either in black and white or in colour, in a bi or three-dimensional screen with sounds. The term television can also refer to a television set or a television program. Nevertheless, usually, TV refers to the channel used for advertising, entertaining and spreading the news among people.
The origin of televisions dates back to the late 1920s when the TV became available to individuals. After the Second World War, new black and white TVs became popular both in the U.S and in Britain. During the 50s, television became the first channel adapted to influence the public opinion. In the mid-60s, colour TVs have been introduced in the US and other developed countries. With the new century, HD televisions have started being used by people and since 2010 a new type of TV -the smart television or Internet TV- has become popular among individuals. With smart TV, people have started receiving content through the Internet, rather than through traditional systems. As well as this, with the new century, individuals have begun using 3D televisions to have a deep perception of the content.
