Physics is the science concerned with aspects of nature on two opposite ends of the spectrum; macroscopic (visible to the naked eye) and submicroscopic levels (something too small to be seen by an ordinary microscope).

It’s the physical science out of the three, covering not only the behaviour of objects under certain forces but also the nature and origin of electromagnetic, gravitational and nuclear force fields. The ultimate aim of this particular science is to produce further principles that explain such unique phenomena.

Like any field, it has branches of topics which receive special emphasis. These include names such as astrophysics, geophysics, biophysics, and even psychophysics. At its core, physics can be defined as the science of matter, motion and energy, with its laws most often expressed in extreme precision in the language of mathematics.

Physics aims to find a unified set of laws that governs the three core notions, matter, motion and energy. Even though a complete theory of physical phenomena has yet to be achieved, a small set of fundamental physical laws appears to be able to account for all known phenomena. The body of physics or ‘classical physics’, can predominantly account for the motions of macroscopic objects that move slowly in regards for the speed of light, and for such phenomena as heat, sound, magnetism, light and electricity.

The scope of physics is huge, so if you’re a student expect to come into contact with other terms such as mechanics, gravity, heat and thermodynamics, optics, electricity and magnetism, atomic and chemical physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter physics, particle physics, quantum physics and more.

That’s a whole lot you need to remember, so let our digital library here at Kortext supply you with all the physics ebooks and digital textbooks you’ll need to achieve success!
