Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy which focuses on the nature of art, beauty and taste, as well as the creation and appreciation of beautiful results. This discipline is closely related to the philosophy of art, which focuses on the nature of art and how individuals understand, criticise and evaluate artworks.

The discipline is technically defined as the study of sensor-emotional and objectives values. Also, aesthetics explores how artists create, imagine and perform their art, as well as how people enjoy and are critics of arts. Furthermore, the discipline deals with the responses to natural objects which results in the language of the beautiful and the ugly. Related to this, a common issue is that the terms beautiful and ugly are too vague to be applied, as well as too subjective in their meaning. Therefore, they can’t be used to divide successfully the world.

Aesthetics is the contemplation and appreciation of an object, as well as defines what art is. Art is considered in philosophy as an autonomous entity which works with the senses and doesn’t have any moral and political goals. In this discipline, there are two ideas of art: the art as a knowledge and the art as an action.

Furthermore, over the years, different forms of aesthetics have been created, including the postmodern, psychoanalytic, mathematical and scientific aesthetics.
