For the more modern and contemporary fiction advocates out there, this category has all the sources you need for those more relevant classes and modules. Do you want to know the best thing? Download them as an ebook and gain access to them immediately.

Contemporary fiction is an interesting genre, predominantly because almost every reader can empathise with a contemporary book in one way or another. The stories are realistic, believable and depict our society while creating imaginary yet relatable characters, who most often grow to find themselves as the readers delve deeper into the novel. You’ll witness the characters confront personal and social problems, and see how they overcome or are engulfed by them, all the while learning valuable morals.

The idea is for authors to write a book around a modern event or storyline that could quite easily occur in normal, day to day life. The desired effect is to get in touch with the readers’ emotions and have them feel as if they themselves are experiencing what the characters in the story are experiencing.

Sub-genres range from crime and thrillers, all the way through to drama and romance, with most often important, conveying messages deeply hidden throughout. The authors can be witty and clever, and almost personal in the way they choose to tell their story, but they can also be cynical and shocking, forever prodding at your emotions.
