Local history is the study of history related to a geographical region and often focused on the analysis of local communities. The discipline concentrates on both cultural and social features of history. Local history is the narration and analysis of pasts events which happened in precise geographical areas. Additionally, it considers different documents which prove that a situation has really happened.
Local history is usually documented by local historical societies which consist of groups of people who aim to preserve local historic buildings and historic sites. Also, works of local history are made by amateur historians who work independently as well as archivists employed by different companies.

Furthermore, many historic counties in England have record societies which coordinate the work of researchers and historians who operate in a specific area.
