Kevin Watt Joins Kortext from McGraw-Hill

Kortext, the UK’s leading digital textbook platform and etextbooks provider, today announced that Kevin Watt will join as Business Development Director at the end of April. Watt, who had been Head of Sales for the UK, Ireland, Northern Europe and Southern Africa at McGraw-Hill Education, will spearhead sales with an initial focus on the UK and Europe.

Watt brings 14 years experience in publishing sales to higher education, with particular expertise in driving the adoption of digital products and platforms. Prior to joining Kortext, Watt headed up a market leading team at McGraw-Hill. Having started selling print products he changed tack in 2008, when he was heavily involved in the development of McGraw Hill’s institutional sales models and first foray into eBook sales for higher education.

In his new role at Kortext, Watt will use his extensive expertise in working with publishers and institutions to develop strong strategic partnerships.

Andy Alferovs, MD at Kortext commented

"Kevin Watt joins Kortext at the perfect time. We’ve seen year-on-year growth, won significant university-wide contracts and delivered successful pilot projects. Kevin brings extensive experience of digital products as well as an invaluable knowledge of the higher education market. It’s a real boost that someone of Kevin’s calibre can see the potential in the business and we welcome him to our team."

Kevin Watt added

"Digital is the way things are going. I’ve seen the interest from institutions dramatically increase over the last 12 months. Kortext is a dynamic company, which is in the right space, at the right time – a good combination for us both."
