The conservation of the environment is a practice which focuses on preserving the natural environment for the benefit of both the individuals and the environment.
Because of the population growth and the technological development, most of the biophysical environment is being damaged and in some cases also permanently. This degradation has been recognised by governments which have started creating restrictions and rules to prevent the environmental degradation.
The awareness of these environmental problems has begun in the 1960s, and over the years, different approaches to protect the environment have been developed.
The conservation of the environment is fundamental for different areas such as agriculture, fishing and climate.
Firstly, agriculture depends on the environment and individuals depends on agriculture, above all in countries where cultivation is the main living source. Therefore, it is vital to conserve the environment and prevent the soil erosion, flooding and desertification. Unsustainable farming and agricultural techniques will both impact the natural ecosystem and the farming activity itself.
Secondly, also fishing is an essential source for humans. Hence, communities should look after the marine conservation to both protect the marine animals and have food.
Thirdly, human activities impact the climate, which affects people’s lives. Nowadays, global warming is a serious problem and many countries are already experiencing disastrous effects. Climate changes mostly because people do not treat the environment with respect. Therefore, communities should conserve the environment to reduce this harmful issue.
Finally, conserving the environment is key to have a better life with clean water and fresh air, better rainfall, better soil and better plants.
