Ball games are any form of sports or games which use a ball as part of the game. The most well-known ball games include football, cricket, basketball, volleyball and tennis.

Football or soccer is a team sport where two teams of eleven players play with a spherical ball. This sport is played by 250 million people in over 200 countries all around the world. Therefore, it is recognised as the most popular sport. Football is performed in a rectangular field which has a goal at each end. The aim of this sport is to score by moving the ball beyond the goal line, into the opponent's goal.

Cricket is defined as a bat-and-ball game and is played by two teams of eleven people. The game is set on a cricket field centred on a 20 meters pitch with two wickets, each including a bail which is balanced on three stumps.

Basketball is a team sport, played by ten players (five on each side). The main aim of this discipline is to shoot a basketball while preventing the opposite team from executing it.

Volleyball is a team sport where two teams of six players are divided by a net. The purpose of this game is to score points by grounding a ball on the opponent's court.

Tennis is a racket sport and can be played individually, against another player, or between two teams of two players each. The goal of this discipline is to score points by grounding a ball into the opponent’s court.
