What is Kortext?
Kortext is a leading digital textbook platform. It offers you online and offline reading solutions for 24/7 access to your etextbooks on any device. Kortext has developed a set of digital tools that permit you to have a personalised learning and study smarter, through the organisation and sharing of research and notes in a completely new way!
How can I access Kortext?
You can log in at app.kortext.com/login using either the username and password or access code you have been provided and follow the on screen instructions.
What devices can I use?
Any device that is running iOS, Android, Mac and Windows software. Unfortunately, Amazon Kindle is not supported at this time.

Where do I get my username and password?
If your university is providing your etextbooks, your username and password will be sent to your university email address. Otherwise the access will have been provided through your VLE.
If you have purchased through the Kortext Store, the instructions on how to access your account will have been sent to your email address. If not, please contact email@example.com.
How do I reset my password?
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by going into the login screen. Simply enter your username and click on ‘Forgot your password?’. You will then receive an email with all the instructions on how to reset it.
If you want to change your password, you can reset it by accessing ‘My Account’ on your bookshelf toolbar. Select the ‘Change Password’ tab and follow all the steps that will appear.
What do I need to access my etextbooks?
For online access, you will need a internet connection (we recommend you to use WiFi), a compatible web browser and a Kortext account.
You can also read offline using the Kortext App (in this case no internet connection is required).
How do I download my etextbooks?
You can download and read your etextbooks offline using the Kortext App, which is available to download for free on Google Play Store, and Apple Store. If you want to download the Kortext app for Windows click here.
You will need to install the App onto your device before you download the content; this can be accessed from the cloud, or if you log onto your Kortext account on the device, via the web browser.
How long does it take to download an etextbook?
When you download an etextbook from Kortext, the amount of time it takes will vary according to the file’s size and your internet connection speed.
What is my bookshelf?
Your bookshelf is the place where the etextbooks allocated to your account will be ready to be read. To access to your personal bookshelf, you have to log in into Kortext.
Can I print pages of my etextbooks?
Yes, you can print pages of your etextbooks. However the amount is restricted by the publisher copyright.
What internet browsers are supported by Kortext?
Kortext supports the following browsers: IE 8.0+, Chrome 2+, Firefox 3+, Safari 2+ (Mac) and Safari 3+ (Windows).
How many devices can I use?
You can download your etextbooks on up to five devices.
Can I use an Amazon Kindle to read my etextbooks?
No, unfortunately at this time you are unable to read your etextbooks on your Kindle device as the Amazon Kindle uses proprietary software. However, you can read your etextbooks on a Kindle Fire by accessing Kortext online through the web browser.
Can I share my etextbooks?
No, your username and password is unique to you and must not be shared with other people. However, you can share your notes from your etextbooks and collaborate with other students using our digital smart tools.
How long do I have access to my etextbooks?
If your etextbooks are purchased under the perpetuity model, you will own them for as long as you access Kortext or the downloaded version on your device. On the contrary, if you have bought your digital textbooks under the rental model, you will be able to access them only for the length of the rental period.
Is there a limit to how many etextbooks I can read offline on my device?
No, there are no limits on how many of your etextbooks can be downloaded and read offline.
I have the wrong etextbook or I’m missing a etextbook from my bookshelf, what do I do?
If you have an incorrect or missing title on your bookshelf, you should contact your university representative, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have a problem that is not listed here, what do I do?
